Efficiency at Work Training
Courses and coaching
Efficiency at Work is a program that is designed to help office workers take control of their commitments, priorities and daily tasks. Even the most competent, highly-performing employees experience some of the following issues at work:
- Forgetting to follow through on requests
- Overload of email
- Not knowing where to start with multiple priorities
- Having difficulty starting on important projects due to urgency of small daily tasks
- Wasting time by re-reading emails or documents
- Confusion created by reminders of tasks kept in multiple places: email, lists, voicemail, text messages and post-it notes
- Difficulty in finding relevant information in files or on desks
Benefits
This course is designed to offer both a strategy and tactics for being more efficient and effective in the workplace. Delegates who attend this course will learn ideas that they can immediately apply to feel on top of their work and make well-informed decisions about what to work on first.
This course will cover:
- Clearing your head by listing all current projects and tasks
- Making the best use of small chunks of time
- Advancing important projects by breaking them down
- Creating a system to capture and review all priorities and commitments
- How to deal effectively with actions created by emails
- Removing the worry of forgetting actions stored in your head
- Dealing quickly and easily with paperwork, documents and filing
Coaching is available either in addition to the course, or its own. Ideally, coaching will happen at the employee’s desk. The coaching will cover various topics according to the employee’s need. These topics may include:
- Saving time by making use of keyboard shortcuts
- Working through examples of how to set up the system for managing projects and tasks
- Clearing email backlog
- Setting up a workable process for dealing with paperwork
Who is it for?
This program is for employees who are busy, responsible for different projects and largely make decisions about their own work. This is NOT for staff who have pre-defined ways to do all/most of their work or do very few different types of tasks. For example, call centre staff with no other responsibilities would be less likely to benefit from this program.
This program would be suitable for people of any level of the organization who meet the above criteria.
